2023 Proposed Drought Contingency Plan

Review the draft plan:
Take our survey:
If you get a water bill from the city of Corpus Christi, Texas, this impacts YOU!
Did you know: residents account for only 16% of the city's water usage while a handful of industrial high volume water users account for over 23% of all water used.
Despite this fact, it's residential users who face restrictions on their water usage, potentially doubled bills, and even having their water shut off if they go over their allotment during droughts. Meanwhile large volume water users can pay a fee to opt out of these restrictions and continue using as much water as they please--as much as 20 MILLION gallons a day!
Enough is enough!
Sign this petition to tell the Corpus Christi City Council to:
-
end the exemptions for high volume water users
-
make industry curtail their water usage at the same rate as residents
-
ditch one-size-fits-all allotments for residents--family size matters!
These changes aren't all that's needed, but they're a big step in the right direction toward a more equitable Drought Conservation Plan.
